Global Quality

In consideration of the product quality of shipped DRAM products, we need to ensure that the goal of low defect rates expected by customers can be reached. This includes strict monitoring of wafer manufacturing, particle packaging manufacturing, and a series of DRAM module packaging manufacturing. GQ sets quality sampling at each of the above sites. We conduct data analysis on the items that exceed the DPM standard and find out possible key problems and reported them to the manufacturing unit, and make immediate control and stop to prevent problematic products from being shipped. Besides, we need to monitor the DPM of the customer side, and adopt the way of data analysis to find out how to improve product quality so that Micron becomes the No.1 supplier that supplied the best quality products.

Facilities

The facility affairs are divided into six sections (water, electricity, gas chemistry, air conditioning, system integration, general affairs). As a facility engineer, you are responsible for the operations and maintenance of the systems in the factory. Working in (day/night) shifts is required to deal with system abnormalities, operations and maintenance. You also need to manage and control the laborers, material resources, cost and time to ensure the product quality and smooth operations. When you are familiar with the operation of each system and have the ability to systematically improve and integrate resources, you'll have the opportunity to transfer to be responsible for daily projects and cooperate with IoT engineers in the factory to introduce a smart facility management system. With the numerical values and integrated system you can reduce human error and make plans for better facility management environment.

Environmental, Health and Safety

As the primary contact for product inquiries, you need to responsible for new DRAM products and coordinate the product resources, testing and analysis within their life cycle. You also cooperate with various divisions of engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, and do troubleshooting, development and verification during equipment test procedures. Then you track the testing requirements after any products are returned by customers, to meet specific product requirements and evaluate data sheets and provide feedbacks to make way for reliability of products.

DRAM Engineering Group

In the engineering department for DRAM products, we focus on improving yield rate and quality, and deliver DRAM products within the fastest turnaround time, and cooperate with process R&D and design departments in the United States, Japan, and Germany to jointly develop new products.

Central Process Integration Engineering

The job of central process integration is, in addition to optimizing the process and improving product quality with local integration units, more importantly, to extend the best solution to the problem to Micron’s global plants and facilitate overall progress and growth.

Advance Development Technology Team

The bridge between R&D and manufacturing. It mainly introduces the latest Micron technology, and optimizes the production process and formula, thereby increasing the yield rate.

Taiwan Technology Center

Mainly responsible for the process development of the new generation of DRAM, focusing on process optimization to improve product quality, yield and reliability. Also to achieve the lower process cost and higher productivity during the process development.

EUV

Responsible for the research and development on Micron's extreme ultraviolet advanced lithography technology, yield rate optimization, and productivity improvement. You work as the bridge between R&D and mass production divisions, and help to introduce extreme ultraviolet lithography process into the divisions of mass production.

Finance Accounting

Budget preparation; analysis on manufacturing cost
Conduct a technical analysis to determine current and future financial performance.
Collect, analyze, prepare and summarize the recommendations on financial plans, acquisition activities, future-trend requirements, and forecasts for business.
Conduct economic research on the fields such as returns rate, product depreciation, capital requirements for business, investment opportunities, investment performance, and the impact of public-sector requirements.

Procurement

The Purchaser as Supplier Managers functions is the point of contact window for interacting with suppliers, managing performances and negotiating on commercial terms. At this position, he/she works closely with internal stakeholders for business needs to establish a comprehensive management on supplier performance to ensure consistent supply. In addition, they will be responsible for driving cost reduction plans, managing supply risks, and building the strategies of negotiation plans. Through managing, leading and executing strategies they need to optimize costs and strengthen supply quality. In addition, they need to solve supplier-related issues as a lead for coordinating internal communication, to manage the performance evaluation information collection and feedback of business reviews.

Human Resource

The HR unit is considered the soul of a company; it sows the seeds of the core values and culture of a company; its responsibilities can be divided into recruitment, salary and benefits, employee relations, business partners, employee training and talent development.
Assist in different businesses based on different professional functions such as: attracting talents, training & development, the management policy of adopting and retaining talents and employee care related affairs; it analyzes the current situation of the organization, and thus provides best solutions.

Sales

Assist clients in product planning, mastering and forecasting their needs for products; reach performance goals; resolve conflicts between clients and the company; internally coordinate resources with the BU unit, and coordinate for shipment time with sales assistants.

Sales-Field Applications Engineer

Introduce new products to clients, and show them how to use them.
Provide technical skills and expertise through sales demos, product presentations, installation and maintenance of company products.
Assist sales staff to evaluate the potential applications of the company's products to meet the needs for clients, and prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.

Smart Manufacturing & AI

SMAI is making use of the integration of technologies such as IIoT, Big data, AI/ML, Cloud Computing, etc., based on digitization; from the currently and highly automated modern fab it further develops solutions of more intelligent applications, develops production/process, intelligent energy management and have them deployed to each Micron plant to improve manufacturing efficiency, improve product quality, reduce production costs, and help Micron continue to lead the direction of intelligent manufacturing.

Information Technology

We use innovative solutions and new technology applications to focus on the software development into intelligent factory systems, which covers system development, data engineering, and Industrial Internet of Things to enhance product quality and improve productivity.

Supply Chain

Function as the bridge between the sales department and the manufacturing department; it converts clients' orders into work orders that the manufacturing department can work on. According to the delivery date specified in a client's order, it provides the priorities for the production line of the manufacturing department.

ASSEMBLY

Keep the production lines stablility and maintain product quality, improve yield and increase output to meet customer expectations, reduce production costs, and maximize company benefits.

BE-MFG(Manufacturing)

Create production plans, prioritize the issue of product quality to achieve output goals.
Coordinating daily operations, the equipment engineers properly maintain the machines to ensure stable outputs, and cooperate with the manufacturing process staff to ensure the stability of manufacturing process. They supervise the production line status and manage personnel, deal with production line problems, and make production plans into practice and achieve goals.

BE-Process Integration Engineering

Have the manufacturing process integrated and confirm the introduction of new products; improve the procedure of production and manufacturing; increase the yield rate of process.
Involve in various new product reviews, problem solving and process improvement, and define various product indicators.
Provide good materials, suggestions and improvement plans; improve the yield rate of mass-produced products to achieve maximum efficiency and production efficiency.

BE-Quality Engineering

Establish effective problem solving method, focusing on product quality improvement, and ensure product meets customer requirements.
Assist product quality improvement, manage product return for customers, and supervise the status of exceptions.
Confirm and deal with substandard products, and avoid substandard products from being delivered to customers.

TEST

Participate in product testing, and improvement programs on cost and quality, and evaluate the impact on the product cycle.
In the testing process, develop product improvement structure and provide good solutions.
Continuous improvement plan to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Confirm the cause of product abnormality, work out the improvement plan, and design preventive measures.
Acquire data of tested yield rate and analyze the modes of failure.

Test Solutions Engineering

Provide complete, high efficiency, effective global test solutions, and collabration with upstream/downstreams groups based on product characterizaion, as well as strategic test capacity planning for BIC on cost. Participate on product test analysis to facilitate process devation improvement to enhance yield, customer quality, comparative cost advantage.

Using industrial engineering concepts for capacity modeling, providing long-term capex plan to support new tech-node conversion.

With teamwork, continuously improve and optimize the capacity parameters.
Plan and check the delta between model value and actual performance, define mitigation plan to enhance gap.

Capability to build-up tool model to support new tech-node dynamic conversion, evaluate capital requirements.

FE-MFG(Manufacturing)

Solve problems of exception on the production line, improve production capacity, have the concept of reducing workload and determine priority, oversee the status of production lines, analyze production-related data and provide dynamic strategies, achieve daily output goals.

FE-Process Integration Engineering

Evaluate the leading-in of new equipment and materials, improve the manufacturing process, analyze yields and exceptions, and reduce production costs, to ensure that each stage of the manufacturing process is correctly and accurately conducted. Additionally, we cooperate with the staff responsible for each process module (yellow light, etching...) to increase yield and production rates.

FE-Process

The main tasks of a P.E./Process Engineer:
Achieving a balance between "quality" and "yield" and producing the maximum profit for the company. Without badly affecting the product quality, save manufacturing costs, pay attention to any problems during production (such as quality changes) and find a way to solve these changes, so that production can be back to normal condition.
When there is spare capacity, try to study how to improve yield rate and increase production capacity, or study how to reduce manufacturing work hours to save labor and cost. Both may require adjustments to the manufacturing process in order to achieve the goals.

Automation Material Handling System

This is the logistics unit in the fab in charge of home delivery. We have a large number of wafer storage spaces, transporting vehicles, and a complex route network. Our most important task is to deliver wafer Foup from previous machine, and send them efficiently to the next reserved machine. Our important tasks include not only maintenance of relevant equipment, but also route planning and keeping route network unblocked. In addition to logistics-related work, we are also responsible for a small number of machines and manufacturing processes. Although this accounts for a small percentage, the unit can be said to be "small but complete in every detail." You can learn a lot.

FE-Quality Engineering Data Science

Data science team is a multi-functional team. We build and maintain innovative data science solutions through statistic, machine learning, signal analysis, computer vision, deep learning and software engineering methodology on Micron's big data platform. The developed data science methods and systems are mainly used to assist Micron on improving the daily work efficiency, diagnosing, predicting and improving product yield and quality, monitoring equipment problems in real time, and optimizing production capacity of Micron's fab.

FE-Quality Engineering

Monitor the quality of production lines by way of statistical methods and control charts.
Use quality indicators to observe production stability, tiny excursions, continuous excursions, etc.
Use the observed results to give tips or guidelines to the engineering unit to implement short-term, mid-term and long-term improvement plans and to ensure long-term stability of quality.
Adopt automated tools to simplify the above-mentioned workflow.

FE-Equipment

Equipment engineers are considered the foundation as well as the pillar of semiconductors. The manufacturing process improvements rely consistently on the understanding of the machine. The training of equipment engineers will focus on the care and maintenance of machines, and troubleshooting. And the staff will speed up their understanding of the machines by working through shifts (day/night). After a certain period of training, and on condition that his/her performance and ability reach a certain level, he/she can become an expert at operating machines, and will have the opportunity to be in charge of daily projects (such as cost improvement, communication with suppliers, capacity demand planning).

TCP(Taiwan Central Probe)-Equipment

The equipment testing engineer needs to deal with online problems, solve them immediately, and respond to superiors in real time. They work in (day/night) shifts to accelerate their understanding of the machines, deploy probe cards and establish the wafer measurement plant that can realize high quality and high-volume output.

TCP-Production (Manufacturing)

Responsible for working in (day/night) shifts to manage the production line personnel, and supervise the completion rate of the production line, handle and troubleshoot the production-line issues in a timely manner, focus on the process of a specific area. You need to cooperate and communicate with various departments, enhance and adjust the management process of the production line, and realize together the daily production capacity goals. When you have the ability to discover/solve exceptions of the production line, and can continuously improve product performance/KPI, you have the opportunity to transfer work on daily projects (cost improvement, supplier communication, capacity demand planning). The key to keeping this position requires the ability to judge situations and handle priorities, and manage the production lines to maximize production capacity and outputs.

FE-IE
